Craig Wilson appointed CEO of Sopra Steria UK

Craig Wilson to take the helm of Sopra Steria UK, focusing on growth and innovation in technology services.

Sopra Steria has announced the appointment of Craig Wilson as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its UK division. He is due to take up the role on 1 July 2026 and will also join the Group Executive Committee. The appointment follows a planned leadership transition, with Craig Wilson succeeding John Neilson, who has served as UK CEO since July 2020. John Neilson is expected to remain in an advisory capacity until his retirement at the end of 2026.

During John Neilson’s tenure, the UK division of Sopra Steria returned to consistent growth, strengthened its position in key markets, and maintained relationships with established clients.

Craig Wilson was appointed Deputy CEO in January 2026 after previously leading the UK Private Sector business for eight years. Prior to joining Sopra Steria, he worked for 18 years in financial services, where he held roles involving organisational and operational change.

As CEO, Craig Wilson will focus on supporting growth in the UK, reinforcing the company’s position in core markets, and helping clients adopt developments in areas such as AI, digital transformation, cyber security, and next-generation business services.

The company’s leadership has highlighted his experience in the UK market and his previous performance as relevant to the role and the organisation’s future direction.
