WaveMaker launches GenAI application development system

WaveMaker has introduced a new system for AI-driven enterprise application development designed to support faster delivery, consistent quality and greater cost predictability.

WaveMaker has launched a new agentic application generation system as part of its application platform portfolio. The system is designed to support a standardised, AI-enhanced development model for design-led enterprise applications with a focus on long-term use and scalability.

The launch represents the company’s entry into the GenAI-powered software development space. The platform has been architected to help enterprise development teams deliver applications at speed while maintaining control over quality and costs.

WaveMaker promotes a design-first and architecture-first approach to application development, aiming to reduce complexity and associated expenditure. As organisations look to adopt agentic AI while maintaining reliability and predictable costs, the system is intended to support these requirements.

The platform is delivered as a hybrid integrated developer environment (IDE) that combines agentic prompts with a visual canvas and a code editor. It uses a two-pass code generation process intended to maintain a consistent application development pattern through an architecture-focused methodology. Developer tasks are automated through agents, with application workflows progressing from design input through to code generation via a deterministic engine.

In practice, developers submit Figma design files and natural language prompts, which generate tech stack-agnostic application markup. This markup is reviewed by developers before being converted into code. The approach is designed to retain speed and ease of use while aiming to produce enterprise-grade outcomes.

With this development, WaveMaker positions its platform within AI-native software development, supporting faster application delivery and enhanced functionality aligned to current enterprise requirements.
